If you are in a regulated industry such as financial services, healthcare, etc., then yes, it is a requirement. Most regulators require you to have an up-to-date cyber risk assessment on file.
In general, the assessment usually takes about 3-5 sessions (45 minutes each) if you leverage the Full-Service option. This is because a Cyber expert is going to walk you through each of the controls and explain why they are important and understand what it is you are doing in those areas.
